📦 USPS Is Tightening the Rules — Here’s What Shippers Need to Know Before July

Before sending out your next shipment, review this important USPS update.

Starting July 12, the U.S. Postal Service will require exact package dimensions — length, width, and height — for shipments using Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express, USPS Ground Advantage, and Parcel Select.

Until now, only larger parcels (over 1 cubic foot or 22 inches long) needed detailed measurements. That’s about to change.

Incorrect or missing dimensions could trigger a $1.50 noncompliance fee per package. While flat-rate boxes and USPS returns are excluded, small businesses and casual shippers who skip measuring may feel the biggest impact.
