DHL’s New Truck-Air Service Speeds Up China-Europe Shipments

DHL has launched an innovative truck-air logistics service connecting China to Europe, offering faster and more cost-efficient alternatives for bulky shipments.


Goods are first transported by road from manufacturers in China to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, then flown on DHL freighter aircraft to Istanbul, Turkey, before continuing to European destinations. Transit times average 9–11 days, with significant cost savings compared to standard airfreight.


The service, initially trialed for a Turkish retail customer, offers more reliability than rail routes and greater flexibility than ocean shipping, helping customers avoid delays at ports or border crossings.
